There are many ways to get involved at Loving Food Resources. Whatever you decide to do, it will help LFR achieve its mission.
Organize a food drive
Organizing a food drive for LFR can help fill our shelves for clients as well as spread the word about the pantry. Contact us through email from our website, or call 828-255-9282, and we can assist in the planning. Our Donation Calendar specifies the items we most need. A birthday party, a classroom project, a church food drive, or a civic club’s undertaking—all are good occasions for a food drive.
Make a financial contribution
Making a donation to LFR helps pay for the expenses of operating the pantry. Financial donations are tax deductible since LFR is a nonprofit, 501(c)3 charitable organization. Checks should be made out to Loving Food Resources, or simply LFR. A written acknowledgement is mailed to donors.
Attend an event
Participate in the occasional fundraiser sponsored by the board of directors to raise funds for operation. Because of COVID-19, event venues have had to change. Most are on social media; however, they are fun and just as important in supporting LFR as live events. We hope that next year we can once again host events in the community.
VOLUNTEER
Loving Food Resources offers a variety of volunteer opportunities, and clients repeatedly say how much they appreciate our volunteers and the time they give.
