CALENDAR OF EVENTS

- October 16th -
This year's CROP WALK will be held on October 16th., and will support the Church World Service's efforts around the world to help those in need. There are several local nonprofits which will also benefit from a portion of the monies raised. Support this year's CROP Walk by walking, recruiting pledges for your walk, or by giving to others who are walking. - September 16th, from 3:00-6:00pm- Loving Food Resources will hold an Ice Cream Social and Volunteer Tribute at the Kenilworth Presbyterian Church, in Asheville. It is our way of thanking volunteers and supporters for the time, dedication and service they provide to the success of The Pantry. If you plan to attend, please RSVP via email to volunteer@lovingfood.org by September 5th.|
- September 25, 2011, from 4:00-6:00pm - A soothing afternoon of song with Kat Williams at the Cathedral of All Souls, 9 Swan Street, Biltmore Village. General admission tickets are $20 and will be available at the door. This is a benefit performance for Loving Food Resources.

20th Anniversary/6th Annual BBQ & Blues happens on the green at the Cathedral of All Souls, Biltmore Village.
Tickets are available for Adults $10 - Children $5 - includes beverage and dessert.
- Sunday, February 27th - 6:00-8:30 -
LFR's Winter Party happens at The Grey Eagle on Clingman Avenue. It is our 4th Annual Grey Eagle event and we are looking to make it the hottest ticket in town! The entertainment will be provided by some of Asheville's finest with names to be announced soon. Your $15 ticket will be a fundraiser boost to LFR during the winter. A Silent Auction and a Raffle will also be available. Food and beverages can be purchased from the Grey Eagle.
- THANKS to all who contributed to the December 17th Cookie Party for LFR clients' Christmas boxes. Special thanks to event organizer Betty Sharpless. 144 boxes were filled with home made and bakery purchased cookies and were distributed to clients on the next day.
- THANKS also to employees at Dave Steel for their help on the United Way's Day of Caring last fall. As the photo shows, three volunteers spent some busy hours getting the painting project underway at the pantry. Now students at Warren Wilson College are pitching in to continue the big project to update and improve the pantry appearance.
